Thanks Cy :)

It's interesting to hear what you say about Android. I pretty much fear/expect the same: Although it'd be good to see Android establishing itself and settling into a mature platform, I really don't see this happening. It's happened before and it'll happen again ;)

Either way, iPad isn't the answer at the moment and it'll be interesting to see how cheap they're being sold on eBay in a few months ...

A great review Robert.

I'm torn on the Flapple debacle myself.
I can see both the benefits of wanting to progress onto html5 as it does offer a lot of cool features. BUT it is way too early to be thinking in that way and I think that Mr Jobs is a bit foolish to be so eager.
Html5 isn't fully supported yet and its actually apple who have been holding up the video tag progression with the demand that they use their proprietary encoder.... So much for their open-source ideas with Flash eh?

The Flapple issue also pushes out on two levels, the usability and also the development. The no-flash ruling scuppers both areas in different ways and I think it will do them harm in the long term.

Likewise when I played with an iPad when i was overseas last month, I was startled by its weight - I was expecting it to be a little bit lighter and yes, the display was covered in grubby prints very quickly.

As a recent mover to Android for my phone, I think it will be interesting to see what is going to happen if they release a tablet.
The Android platform, at least on a mobile level, is mostly all media hype.
The store is poorly implemented and the phone OS itself falls into a very sad second place in intuitiveness and usability.

It's starting to fragment and splinter so much it is hard to find an app that is well built, will work on your OS version and also work on your handset.
And then it may kill your phone in a couple of hours.

Who knows what their tablet OS will be like? hopefully it will have a cursor....
